The total raised at auction fell by £32M to £402M, down 7.3% from £434M raised in March 2016.

Overall lots offered was down 7.6% last month, from 2,341 lots to 2,163 lots, whilst lots sold fell over 10% to 1,591 lots from 1,774 in November 2015. Despite the dip in sales, auctioneers saw revenues increase by 2%, from £272M to £277M.

For whatever reason, the auction market continues to gently contract and this is evidenced by the red 'down' arrows that dominate the comparative figures. Lots offered and lots sold both fell by 6% and 8.5% respectively last month, whilst the overall amount raised fell by £36M (down 8.4%).
