Important things to consider when viewing a property

You must before auction satisfy yourself with the quality of the building, remember a video tour cannot smell the damp!

View the property twice in the daytime and the evening, remember that plans and photos may not be to scale.

Consider taking a builder or handyman with you to find out what may need to do to the property, and how much it is likely to cost. If you have any queries, don't be afraid to ask the auctioneer.

Things to take:

Tape measure

Camera

Notepad

Torch

Damp meter

Binoculars (to check roof / guttering)

Portable ladder (access loft space)

If after viewing you still wish to buy the property it maybe that you want to book a survey, this way you can budget in if the property has any potential problems or whether the property would still be of interested to you in advance of the auction.
