Essential Auction News
Auction activity remained resilient over the summer, with national figures showing year-on-year growth in both volumes and values. July’s auctions alone saw over 4,500 lots offered, up 3.6% on last year, and raising £662.4 million, an increase of 8.3%.
Residential property was the standout sector, with lots offered up 4.2% and receipts up 13.5%, reflecting sustained buyer demand. Commercial, however, showed a more mixed picture: lots sold were down 9.2% year-on-year in July and receipts fell nearly 10%, underlining a more cautious mood among investors in that sector. Even so, several regions including the East Midlands, North-West, North-West Home Counties, and Yorkshire & The Humber reported double-digit gains in total raised, highlighting a robust appetite in key markets despite varying local trends.
Please note the newsletter can also be viewed online. Kind regards David Sandeman davids@eigroup.co.uk P.S. Here at the Essential Information Group we maintain a database of virtually every property coming up for sale at auction as well as over 1 million lots that have been to auction in the past. It is fully searchable and allows you to identify properties coming up for sale that you might be interested in, and to see what similar properties have sold for in the past.
